Police in the Northern Region have arrested 191 people in a pre-Christmas sweeping exercise to ensure order during the festive season. The people have been arrested in Karonga, Chitipa, Nkhata Bay, Mzuzu and Mzimba and have been charged with various offences. Northern Region Police spokesperson Norah Chimwala on Tuesday said of the 17 people arrested in Karonga, four were Congolese who have been arrested for illegal entry.
